The 2012 Winter Experience: This year the Carnival transforms you from dazzled spectator into active participant. At its unique events, you’ll discover winter in all of its forms and experience chills and thrills you’ll never forget. In addition to enjoying the 300 activities and shows, you can go ice fishing, taste the famous maple taffy on snow, whiz down a hill with a snow raft, play the Giant Fooz Ball game, enjoy the canoe races across the St. Lawrence river, admire the ephemeral beauty of snow sculptures, discover the way of life for Quebecers and much more!

Day 1 – February 3, 2012

6:00 am – Board coach at the St. Laurent Mall (In front of East Side Mario’s)6:30 am – Board coach at Queensway Tours Office (1516 Merivale Rd)We ask everyone to be at your respective pick up point 15 minutes prior to departure.On to discover The World Famous Quebec City Winter Carnival!12:00 pm - Lunch stop (on own) on our way to Quebec City.4:00 pm – Arrival in Quebec City at the Hotel Clarendon in the heart of old Quebec, inside the fortification walls, just steps from the Chateau Frontenac.7:00 pm – The Canoe Races across the St. Lawrence river from Levi to Quebec City will have the preliminary races tonight! You will receive an event map showing event locations. The evening is at your leisure in Old Quebec.

Day 2 – February 4, 2012

7:00 am - Full breakfast buffet at your leisure at the hotel.The day is yours to enjoy all the activities of the Winter Carnival. Your Carnival Passport provides access to most activities. You will also receive an event listing and map. Today you can enjoy all the activities at Winter Carnival at the Plains of Abraham. Don’t miss the Soap box derby today which begins just steps in front of our hotel!7:00 pm – If you like, tonight you can see the Night Parade in Lower Town before enjoying the Loto-Quebec Outdoor Dance Party! Also tonight the International Snow Sculpture event “Sculpt the Night Away” – don’t miss it!

10:45 am - Depart from the Hotel Clarendon11:15 am – Arrival at the World Famous Ice Hotel at Duchesnay11:30 am – Join our local guide for a guided tour of the world famous Ice Hotel. Remember to dress warm!1:00 pm – Arrive back at the Hotel in time for you to enjoy the rest of your day.

Day 3 – February 5

7:00 am – Full breakfast buffet at your leisure at the hotel.The morning is yours to enjoy at your leisure prior to checking out at noon. Our suitcases will be held for us until 3 pm.1:30 pm – The Canoe Race finals on the St. Lawrence are on!3:00 pm – Departure from Quebec CityBrief dinner stop on the way home (on own)10:30 pm - Expected arrival back in Ottawa
