Discover Halifax, Atlantic Canada’s cultural hub: This 260 year-old city takes having fun very seriously, so if you are looking for excitement, there are more than 450 restaurants in Halifax and more pubs, clubs and nightlife venues per capita than anywhere else in Canada.

You’ll visit Peggy’s Cove, sip beer at Alexander Keith’s Brewery, and get in touch with Canadian history at Pier 21, with plenty of free time left to explore this vibrant city.

Day 1 – Edmundston - July 26, 2012

6:45 am – Board coach at the St. Laurent Mall (In front of East Side Mario’s)

7:00am– Board coach at Queensway Tours Office (1516 Merivale Rd)

We ask everyone to be at your respective pick up point 15 minutes prior to departure.

This morning we begin our journey to Halifax traveling through Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick where we will spend our first night at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Centre, Edmundston, N.B E3V 1T4, phone 506-739-7321.

Day 2 – Halifax – July 27,  2012

Enjoy your full breakfast this morning before we continue our journey through the province of New Brunswick and into Nova Scotia.

We expect a late afternoon arrival at the Prince George Hotel, Halifax Nova Scotia, B3J 3N9 phone 902-425-1986, located in the heart of downtown Halifax, midway between Citadel Hill and the Halifax Waterfront. Rooms are equipped with two double beds, individual climate control, coffee/tea maker, hairdryer, alarm clock and a small refrigerator. Amenities include the Gio Restaurant and Terrace Breakfast Buffett, an indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, fitness centre and spa for your enjoyment. Relax and settle in to your hotels room.

Dinner is on your own this evening. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore the surrounding historic pubs filled with loud east coast music and fun-loving maritime atmosphere, and there are many great pubs and restaurants within walking distance.

Day 3 – Halifax – July 28, 2012

Buffet breakfast is included this morning. Today we will enjoy a three hour guided tour of this fascinating city. Our tour will include many historic sites: Halifax’s Historic Waterfront, the Halifax Citadel Historic Site and one of three cemeteries where Titanic unclaimed victims are buried.

The balance of the day is free to explore on your own.

This evening we will claim our seats for dinner and a performance at the Grafton Dinner Theatre. Enjoy live music and comedy, plus a scrumptious dinner!

Day 4 – Halifax – July 29, 2012

Full Hot and Cold Buffet Breakfast is included. Spend the morning exploring downtown Halifax.

This afternoon we travel to Peggy’s Cove, one of the most popular stops in Atlantic Canada. The renowned fishing village and famous lighthouse set on rocky shores are a famous Canadian sight- don’t forget your camera!! Despite its popularity, this tiny fishing village has kept the relaxed atmosphere that made it famous- not to mention the scenery is spectacular!

This evening, we indulge in an included lobster feast at the Shore Club at Hubbard’s Beach. Our dinner features a choice of lobster or steak, potato Salad, an all-you-can-eat salad bar, unlimited mussels, choice of desert, coffee and tea- yum! We’ll arrive back to Halifax in the early evening.

Day 5 – Halifax – July 30, 2012

Toady we visit Pier 21 a newly restored award-winning National Historic Site that tells the stories of 1.5 million immigrants, war brides, displaced children and Canadian military service personnel who passed through its doors between 1928 and 1971.

For a truly Nova Scotian good time, we tour Alexander Keith’s Brewery. Actors in period costume will lead you back in time as you learn about the beer, the brewery and life in Halifax in 1863. Visit the Stag’s Head Tavern for some toe tapping music, games and of course, some of Keith’s fine ale. It’s the perfect tour for people of all ages!

Next we’ll head to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic for a self-guided tour at your own pace. The 100th anniversary of the sailing of the Titanic is being recognized in 2012. Halifax was the closest major port at the sinking of the Titanic, all bodies and artifacts were brought to Halifax. The balance of the day is free to continue exploring this vibrant city.

Day 6 – Edmundston – July 31, 2012

Enjoy your buffet breakfast prior to checking out of the hotel this morning. We begin our trip home today, travelling through the province of Nova Scotia, back into New Brunswick, where we spend our final night together at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Centre, Edmundston, N.B E3V 1T4, phone 506-739-7321.

Day 7 – Home

- Clients may have to transfer coaches as we have participates joining our tours from all over South Eastern Ontario.

- Tipping for tour escort and driver is voluntary and depending on quality of service.

Baggage service will be provided. You will receive your luggage tags upon check in prior to departure. Please ensure that you adhere to our baggage policies. McCoy Tours will pay only the portage charges for ONE large suitcase per person. You are responsible for your carry-on baggage.
