Day 1: Monday, September 10 :
7:45 am – Board coach at the St. Laurent Mall (In front of East Side Mario’s).
8:00 am - Board coach at Queensway Tours Office (1516 Merivale Rd).
We ask everyone to be at your respective pick up point 15 minutes prior to departure.
We join our traveling companions and depart from Ottawa as we begin our travels to the magnificent Green Mountains of Vermont. We will have comfort stops and a lunch break along the way and in the early evening we will arrive at The Greenbrier Inn in Killington, Vermont. www.greenbriervt.com. (802) 775-1575. Unpack and relax for our two night stay. A Welcome Reception is planned for us at the Lodge before we enjoy an included dinner tonight.
Day 2: Tuesday, September 11
A hearty continental breakfast is included this morning at the lodge before we begin our day. Our local guide will meet us at the lodge and we will depart for a full day of Vermont touring.
Find out how two childhood friends turned a $5.00 correspondence course into a very successful ice cream business. Tour Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory, learn the manufacturing process and taste the delicious samples. LUNCH featuring Austrian pastries is included today at the “Trapp Family Lodge”. A Mountain Resort in European tradition by the family that inspired The Sound of Music. You will be amazed by the rolling Green Mountains, beautiful bucolic views, and the Austrian architecture. Stroll the grounds and visit the exquisite gift shop and learn about the “Sound of Music” Family.
This afternoon enjoy time in Stowe Village. Browse the shops of this charming village with its “Most photographed Church steeple”. A photo stop will also be made at one of Vermont’s historical covered bridges. Tonight we will enjoy dinner with live entertainment after a wonderful day.
Day 3: Wednesday, Septmeber 12
After enjoying a hearty continental breakfast this morning at the lodge, we will join our local guide for another day of touring as we head to New Hampshire, the Granite State.
Enjoy a photo stop at Quechee Gorge, Vermont’s “Little Grand Canyon” as we make our way to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Soar to the summit of Loon Gondola. Once at the top see artisans at work, climb the observation tower, and enjoy panoramic views from the deck of the Summit Café. Lunch is on your own at the top of the mountain.
Later, we’ll visit the Franconia Notch Visitor’s Center, where you will view exhibits and an orientation film on the park. The next stop will be made at the Basin. See how a beautiful waterfall has eroded this pothole over the past 15,000 years. Below the basin is a water eroded rock formation called The Old Man’s Foot. This afternoon, we say farewell to our guide for today and travel on to Waterville Valley in New Hampshire. We arrive at the Silver Fox Inn (Best Western) in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire where we will spend the next two nights. (603) 236-3699, www.silverfoxinn.com . A welcome reception awaits us when we arrive.
We will have time to browse the shops in “Town Square”, walk the village for breathtaking views of the mountains, or relax by the fireplace. Once again, we will have an included dinner together before enjoying a showing of the movie “On Golden Pond” at the lodge.
Day 4: Thursday, September 13
After a hearty continental breakfast at the lodge this morning, we will once again meet our local guide at the lodge and we will travel to Squam Lake where On Golden Pond was filmed. Board a narrated boat cruise and hear the stories of the natural forces that created the lakes and the wildlife that makes the lakes so special. Be on the look out for loons! Lunch will be on your own in the Lake Region. Next we will visit the Moultonboro Country Store, an old fashioned New England Country Store originating back to 1781 or visit the Loon Center to learn through videos and exhibits their habitat and why they migrate to northern lakes. Stroll a walking trail and visit the gift shop.
Climb aboard the Lake Winnipesaskee Scenic Railroad and enjoy a full New England Roast Turkey Dinner while riding along the shores of scenic Lake Winnipesaukee! (BYOB!). We will return to the lodge after a great day together in the beautiful countryside of New Hampshire.
Day 5: Friday, September 14
After a hearty continental breakfast at the lodge, we will begin our journey home. We will depart the peaks of New England with fond memories of our holiday.

Luggage:
Baggage service will be provided. You will receive your luggage tags upon check in prior to departure. Please ensure that you adhere to our baggage policies. Queensway Tours will pay only the portage charges for ONE large suitcase per person. You are responsible for your carry-on baggage.
NOTE:
- A deposit of $100 is required at the time of booking. Balance is due 60 days prior to departure.
- Refunds are not available within 30 days of travel.
- Regular stops will be made for comfort breaks and meals.
- A valid Canadian Passport or enhanced Driver’s license is required to enter the U.S.A
- For the comfort of fellow travelers, kindly refrain from using scented products (perfume, cologne or hand sanitizer).
- Clients may have to transfer coaches as we have participates joining our tours from all over South Eastern Ontario. The size and style of the shuttle vehicle is dependant on the number of passengers.
- Your Queensway Tour representative is available to assist you in any way possible. Please do not hesitate to contact him/her with any questions or concerns. If you have a problem or complaint about any hotel room or other inclusion on your tour, you must report it to your tour director as soon as possible in order for them to inspect the problem and attempt to have it rectified for you. No complaints will be considered by our office upon return of the trip unless reported to and duly noted by the tour director.
- Tipping for driver and escort is voluntary depending on quality of service.
Step-on guides: We provide a standard gratuity to the local guide but if you feel that he/she has given exceptional service you are welcome to offer them something extra on your own.
