Monday, June 25
After an early morning departure, we will stop in Albany, N.Y. for lunch on own before continuing our Hudson River Valley adventure. Our first stop will be in Kingston, N.Y. where we will tour the Historic Senate House. We will continue on our way and check into the Hotel Sierra, Fishkill, NY. www.hotel-sierra.com. Relax and settle into our home away from home for the next three nights. A buffet dinner is included this evening.
Tuesday, June 26
After a deluxe continental breakfast we will depart with our local guide for Hyde Park. Today we will tour the Frederic Vanderbilt Mansion and we will have lunch and enjoy a tour of the famous Culinary Institute of America. We will also tour Franklin D. Roosevelt’s’ home with free time to visit the Museum and Visitors Centre. This evening we will have dinner in a fine restaurant in the area together.
Wednesday, June 27
We begin our day with a deluxe continental breakfast and then with our local guide we will depart for Sleepy Hollow Country. We will tour Kykuit, home to four generations of Rockefellers. Lunch will be on your own at Phillipsburg Manor. This afternoon we will tour Sunnyside, Washington Irvings’ charming home and visit Union Church at Pocantico Hills, famous for Matisse and Chagall stained glass windows. Again dinner is included tonight at a lovely local restaurant.
Thursday, June 28
After our deluxe continental breakfast we will check out of our hotel. With our local guide once again, we will depart for West Point. We will enjoy a guided tour of the Academy to include Trophy Point and the Cadet Chapel. After we will cruise on the Majestic Hudson River. An included box lunch will be enjoyed during our cruise. At the end of the cruise we will begin our journey home and expect to arrive back in Ottawa at approximately 10:30 pm.
