Thursday , OCTOBER 11
5:45 am Depart from St. Laurent Center (in front of East Side Mario’s)
6:00 am Depart from Queensway Office (1516 Merivale Rd)
We ask everyone to be at your respective pick up point 15 minutes prior to departure
Comfort stops and a lunch break will be made on our travel to New England.
5:30 pm An early evening arrival into historic Massachusetts as we check into the HOLIDAY INN TEWKSBURY.(978) 640-9000.
6:30 pm We will enjoy an included dinner this evening at our hotel. After dinner feel free to enjoy the indoor pool and relax.
Friday, OCTOBER 12
7:00 am A FULL BREAKFAST is included this morning at the hotel.
7:30 am Depart for Salem.
8:30 am Meet our local guide in Salem at the Pickering Wharf to begin a narrated tour of SALEM – the famous witch city! You will hear about this historic city made famous by the Witchcraft Hysteria of 1692 and the Maritime history of Trade to the Orient. Take a drive down historic Chestnut Street to see the magnificent former sea captains homes and hear about this famous old maritime port, and the China trade. Visit the Old Burying Point Cemetery and the Witch Trials Memorial.
10:15 am Reservations have been made at the House of Seven Gables. One of Salem’s most famous residents was Nathaniel Hawthorne who penned the novel The House of Seven Gables. This house was considered a mansion in its time and you will have the opportunity to see the treasures that are still on display as well as experience a secret that this house still holds.
11:30 am A visit to the Salem Witch Museum for their multi-media presentation which is included.
12:30 pm We will enjoy a wonderful lunch at the Brothers Deli of Salem…. a real favourite in Salem.
1:45 pm We will depart for GLOUCESTER and travel the gold coast route to meet our local guide to begin a narrated tour of GLOUCESTER and ROCKPORT. Our guide will relate stories of the “dangerous” fishing industry of Gloucester that was brought to the public’s attention recently in the Hollywood movie, “The Perfect Storm”.
Always famous for its fishing industry, Gloucester today is bustling with large fishing boats, fish processing plants and boatyards. (Make a photo stop at the famous Fisherman’s Statue). See the new memorial dedicated to the wives of the fishermen, also located on the Gloucester Boulevard. Traveling through East Gloucester, drive past Bass Rocks where the term “rock bound coast of New England” will come to life.
ROCKPORT, designated by Walt Disney as one of the most picturesque towns in America, is famous for its art colony located on Bearskin Neck.
5:00 pm A LOBSTER BAKE “in the rough” is included at the GLOUCESTER HOUSE RESTAURANT. An alternate dinner choice is available for anyone not wanting lobster.
After a great day of together we will return to our hotel for the evening
Saturday, OCTOBER 13
7:00 am A FULL BREAKFAST is included this morning at the hotel.
8:00 am Depart the hotel for Boston.
9:00 am Our local tour guide will meet us in Boston at Quincy Market to begin a CITY TOUR of BOSTON and the historical FREEDOM TRAIL. Take a walk in the North End, past the Paul Revere House to the Old North Church, where the lanterns were hung to signal the midnight ride of Paul Revere.
12:00 pm Lunch is on your own at Quincy Market with some free time to look around this lively area filled with kiosks, stores and street performers.
2:00 pm Continue touring in Boston along the FREEDOM TRAIL, including a visit to the USS CONSTITUTION. See Bunker Hill and then cross the Charles River to Cambridge, home of famous HARVARD UNIVERSITY. Take a walk through Harvard Yard and see Harvard Square and historic Brattle Street.
5:00 pm DINNER is included at The Living Room in Boston. After dinner we will return to our hotel for the evening.
Sunday, October 14
7:30 am A FULL BREAKFAST is included this morning at the hotel.
8:00 am Check out and depart
9:00 am Meet our guide at the LEXINGTON BATTLE GREEN to begin your narrated tour of LEXINGTON & CONCORD. Stand on the GREEN and learn how the farmers rallied to meet the British and where the first shots were fired. Continue along BATTLE ROAD to Concord where you will stop at the NORTH BRIDGE. Here, walk over the bridge that was the site of the first forcible Colonial action on April 19, 1775. Returning back through Concord you will hear of the famous authors who lived here, such as Alcott, Emerson, Hawthorne and Thoreau as you pass by the homes where they lived.
11:00 am Visit the Minute Man Visitors Centre for the multimedia presentation.
12:00 pm Lunch is on your own in downtown Lexington prior to departure.
1:30 pm Depart from this beautiful area with wonderful memories of “historic” New England with richer understanding of American history and with the sincere wish that you would return to visit again.

Luggage:
Baggage service will be provided. You will receive your luggage tags upon check in prior to departure. Please ensure that you adhere to our baggage policies. Queensway Tours will pay only the portage charges for ONE large suitcase per person. You are responsible for your carry-on baggage.

• A deposit of $100 is required at the time of booking. Balance is due 60 days prior to departure.
• Refunds are not available within 30 days of travel.

• Clients may have to transfer coaches as we have participates joining our tours from all over South Eastern Ontario. The size and style of the shuttle vehicle is dependant on the number of passengers.
• Your Queensway Tour representative is available to assist you in any way possible. Please do not hesitate to contact him/her with any questions or concerns. If you have a problem or complaint about any hotel room or other inclusion on your tour, you must report it to your tour director as soon as possible in order for them to inspect the problem and attempt to have it rectified for you. Step-on guides: We provide a standard gratuity to the local guide but if you feel that he/she has given exceptional service you are welcome to offer them something extra on your own.
As of June 1, travelers coming back after 24 hours away will be able to bring in $200 worth of goods free of duty or taxes–an increase from the current $50. Travelers gone more than 48 hours will be allowed $800 in duty-free goods–double the current $400 allowance. There will no longer be any specified seven-day limit on duty-free purchases.
